| Alexia: Alexia is a world renowned dancer and accomplished choreographer and dance artist. She has performed in the US and Greece where she was the star dancer for many years. She was the founder of Mystique Oriental Belly dance troupe that performed in Vegas, California and Arizona. She now is sharing her knowledge and expertise teaching at the studio. |
Isis Wings Workshop: TBA 11:30- 1:30pm $30 Available to the first 6 students (limited space) Learn the secrets and sought after techniques to master the wings of Isis in a intensive two hour workshop. Let Alexia give you the skills to Elevate your performance by making subtle belly dance movements more dramatic and visible to your audience. You will learn the secret to spinning for a long period while effortlessly utilizing your wings. There is limited space - hurry & sign up before someone else gets your spot! $30 cash or paypal. Your spot is held only when payment is received. BEGINNING BELLY DANCE CLASSES: This class covers all the basics. Learn dance moves from the ground floor up. Each and every move is carefully explained with an emphasis on posture and the application of moves to Middle Eastern music. There is no previous dance experience necessary. Students with some experience are not only welcome but encouraged to use this class as a refresher course. INTERMEDIATE CLASS: This class is designed primarily to focus on drilling, transitions, combos, posture, arms, energy, proper use of your stage area, and communicating with your audience. Basic beginning skills is a prerequisite. CHOREOGRAPHY ETC.. This class will prepare intermediate and advance students who would like to participate in group choreography in our studio recitals, events, fairs,shows and festivals. ALEXIA’S PRIVATE COACHING These classes are arranged by appointment and are offered primarily to intermediate and advanced students who would like tips and tricks for professional performing or are preparing to dance in a public venue and would like coaching and critiquing. Candle Workshop: Alexia is offering workshops for instruction in the art of hand held candles. A series of three candle workshops is being offered. The first workshop will deal with technique. The second and third workshops will teach a candle dance choreography. You may sign up for only the first workshop or you may sign up for all three. If you complete all three you will be invited to perform the choreography with the group in our upcoming May 9 recital. (group costuming and purchase of candle bowls will be required). Instruction begins and ends promptly. This workshop is designed to deal with a prop. Intermediate or advanced dancers with basic belly dance training is a prerequisite. Wear comfortable dance clothing with no sleeves. We will be using lighted candles. Practice candles will be provided GREEK line dance: Greek Folk Dancing Workshop by Alexia NEXT DATE TBA When the weather cools off the Valley’s Greek Festivals will begin, so be prepared! This 90 minute workshop will teach you all the basics for modern line-dancing. Learn hasapiservico, kalamatiano, tzamiko, and hasapiko. These dances are appropriate for everyone and range from the most simple, basic steps to the more fast-paced and spirited dances. Alexia will tailor the evening’s activities based on student’s abilities and expressd interest in particular dances. Wear comfortable clothes and sturdy shoes (like tennies).
